Webcomponents will be a part of the web of tomorrow, no doubt (IMHO). This is an example of such a webcomponent made by Guille Paz and can be found here github-card.
In the final version of a webcomponent, you would get out-of-the box configurable, scriptable (small) pieces of components, like this one. This version is far from finished, however with a litle of extra coding I have have managed to put together this pen which inserts my (an your) twitter profile "badge".
Component is inserted in HTML using <github-card user="netsi1964"></github-card>
Update: Max. 60 views/hour. In case you see nothing it is because of a Github API limit of 60 request/ip/hour.
